St Mary’s VE Day Competition

On Friday 8 May 2020 Britain will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day when the guns fell silent at the end of war in Europe.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions most VE Day 75 events and street parties have had to be cancelled or postponed including our celebrations at St Mary's.  We still want to be able to mark this special occasion, share your pride in our country and honour the men and women of WW2 as a school community.

To do this, we want to create our very own VE Day school bunting including designs from as many pupils as possible.  Each pupil is asked to design one of the bunting triangles.  You can decorate your bunting triangle with pictures of whatever inspires you, whether it’s those who fought on the frontline or worked hard on the Homefront, or whether it’s a celebration of enduring peace or your own personal hero.

All entries will be included in our final school bunting, but there will be a prize for the most creative design awarded to each year group.

A bunting template is available to print off and use, but you can also draw or cut out a triangle shape on any paper to create your design.

Please send a photo of your design to admin@stmaryslevenshulme.org.uk

Please entitle the email as ‘Bunting Competition’ and include pupil’s name and year group.

Remember to hold onto your original art work to bring to school once we open again!

Closing Date for entries: Friday 15th May

We have had some fantastic entries so far. Please take a look and send yours in if you haven't already.
