Hello everyone, I’m Mrs Gordon. I began working in St. Mary’s in 1994 as a parent helper when my two children were in our Nursery. In 1995 I was the first ever Teaching Assistant employed in this school. My children are now all grown up and gone but I still remain because I care about the spiritual and educational development of the children of St. Mary’s. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant throughout the school over the years supporting children with learning difficulties and have been a governor for much of that time. I recently obtained an Honours Degree, of which I am very proud. I am the Pastoral Manager, Learning Support Manager and Senior Mental Health Lead, working on the Inclusion Team and looking after the pastoral needs of our children. When I am not working I enjoy cooking, reading and crochet!
My favourite article from the UNCRC is article 12 - respect for children's views. Children have the right to give their opinions freely on issues that affect them. Adults should listen and take children seriously.
